Apocalyptica ft. Adam Gontier of Three Days Grace – I Don’t Care ****1/2 (Album: Worlds Collide)
Review: You know, regardless of whom Apocalyptica picks up to sing in any song of theirs…they are always gonna be a good band in my book. The newest single from Apocalyptica features Adam Gontier of Three Days Grace and it’s called “I Don’t Care” which is the second single off of Worlds Collide. If you didn’t know by now, Apocalyptica is from Germany. You may think that this is irrelevant but it’s not. For some odd reason, a lot of these bands that are coming from other countries…sometimes know how to do and sometimes sing stuff better then some of the bands here in the states…I don’t know why that is, but that’s what I think. Apocalyptica features a lot of variety in their songs, especially using other singers from other bands…and that my friends, makes it a song worth listening to. The newest album from them is called “Worlds Collide” and it is available wherever you buy your CD’s now-a-days. If I were you, I would keep a close eye on this band…their first single was a big hit with everyone, this could do the same. I wouldn’t be surprised that in 2-3 years…everyone will love Apocalyptica.

12 Stones – Adrenaline ***** (Album: Anthem for the Underdog)
Review: This band has always been a favorite of mine ever since I was 16…and of course, they never disappoint me. This new single from 12 Stones is titled “Adrenaline” and it is song of the week inside New Music Thursday! When I first heard this song…it sounded really familiar to me. After hearing it a couple times, I realized that this song was played during the pre-game warm-ups for the Men’s Finlandia Hockey Games at the Ho-Co…I really can’t wait till the next season starts! ANYWAYS! As I mentioned earlier…I have been listening to 12 Stones since I was in high school and I own their first two albums (Too poor to buy this one yet!) which are totally awesome by the way! Do you wanna know how I came across them? Their first album cover looked pretty neat and it was 6 bucks at Target in the “New Artist” section…I could not pass it up and I’ll tell you this much…I am SO happy that I never did. The third album from 12 Stones is titled “Anthem for the Underdog” and it is in stores and available online. I picked these guys up in pure luck and loved them ever since…give these guys a shot; I guarantee you’ll love them.

Aranda – Still in the Dark ****1/2 (Album: Aranda)
Review: New bands fall into your lap sometimes and you always wanna throw them in the good pile or the bad pile…either way, they have a 50-50 shot to be something and Aranda…is going into the good pile. Aranda’s newest single is titled “Still in the Dark” and this is something in my book that will stay in the light rather then the dark. I really love this song ever since I heard it for the first time…it’s got that slow type rock that is really catchy. The guitar makes you feel good and the lead singer, Dameon Aranda, is awesome! I love how this band came together too! Dameon and his brother, Gabe, started playing music together since they were in pre-school and all of a sudden they formed the band in the early 90’s and finally made a debut album a couple years ago. I love how family can come together and form something that’ll be something they can cherish in the years to come. It makes you feel really good about yourself and about them as well. Oklahoma’s own Aranda has a new album in stores and it’s their self-titled album. You would think that with this being a new band and all they wouldn’t be good…well, never judge a book by it’s cover.
